What is Vinyasa Yoga?

“Vinyasa Yoga” is one of the most popular types of yoga. “Vinyasa” refers to the “breathing system,” which means to achieve balance in mind and body through breathing. It refers to various postures of yoga, which connect the spiritual and physical parts of our body by providing different postures. Vinyasa yoga is not just a form of yoga but many techniques. When you do Vinyasa yoga, the focus is on inhaling and exhaling while moving from one pose to another.


Mostly, yoga instructors believe that no asana should be done without vinyasa. It simply means the movement of the breath, and all types of yoga asanas are given a specific number of configurations. Vinyasa Yoga Classes

Most Vinyasa yoga classes begin with Surya Namaskar. It is a sequence of three terms:

  1. Mountain pose
  2. Raised hand pose
  3. Standing Forward Bend

Mountain pose: Follow these steps to perform this pose:

Mountain Pose
  • First, you stand with your feet together and then hold your hands in front of your body in a prayer posture.
  • Now lift the toes, fan out, and slowly bring them back down.
  • Feel the feet resting on the floor. Now stretch the head towards the ceiling.
  • Shrug your shoulders while pulling your abs in. And then keep the hips and shoulders in a straight line.

Raised hand pose: Follow this step to do raised hand pose:

Mountain Pose
  • Start in the previous pose, raise your arms to the sides, then raise them overhead.
  • Then press the palms together above the head. Now bend the back while looking at the hands.

Standing Forward Bend: Follow the steps:

  • Start from the previous pose and slowly bend forward at the hips to do this pose. Your arms should be out to the sides.
  • Then slowly bring the hands in front of the feet. Try pressing your palms on the floor.
  • Now shift your body weight towards the balls of your feet. Keep the hips in line with the ankles.
  • Then leave the head loose.
